15 killed in deadliest week of US avalanches in over a century

The US had its deadliest week of avalanches in greater than a century when 15 folks have been killed in the pure disasters final week.

The lethal stretch from Jan. 30 to Feb. 6 was the worst since 1910, in line with the Colorado Avalanche Info Heart.

It included avalanches in Utah, Colorado, Montana, California, Alaska and New Hampshire.

A number of fatalities have been brought on by single avalanches in Utah, Alaska and Colorado.

The newest one in Utah killed 4 skiers in Millcreek Canyon on Saturday. 4 different skiers survived the ordeal.

Three backcountry skiers died in a Feb. 1 avalanche in Colorado’s San Juan Mountains.
