A 3-year-old child was killed and his mother critically injured after they had been attacked by two pitbulls Tuesday afternoon in New Jersey.
The tragic incident unfolded at a home on East Laurel Avenue in Carteret, New Jersey, ABC New York reported.
In line with one witness, it appeared each mother and son had been enjoying with the canines earlier than the vicious attack. Neighbors then known as 911 once they heard screaming, ABC7 reported.
The Mayor of Carteret, Dan Reiman, tweeted his condolences to the household Tuesday night time.
“Our prayers are with the household affected by a dog attack at a personal residence on Laurel St. Thanks to the primary responders who rushed in to take care of the victims, who’re being transported by helicopter for emergency medical care. That’s all the data we now have presently,” Reiman wrote.
Police haven’t launched the identify of the girl or the child.
The investigation is ongoing.
