Ahmaud Arbery’s accused killers being held in jail’s protective custody

The daddy-and-son duo accused of killing Georgia jogger Ahmaud Arbery are being held away from the final inhabitants in a Georgia lockup for his or her security as they await prosecution, a report mentioned Wednesday.

Travis and Gregory McMichael are being stored in protective custody in a separate wing of the Glynn County Detention Heart, TMZ reported.

The pair have been break up up in separate cells which can be far sufficient away from one another that the 2 can not converse or talk, in accordance with the report.

Glynn County Undersheriff Ron Corbett declined to inform the gossip website in the event that they’d been positioned on suicide watch or if threats had been made in opposition to their lives.

The pair are accused of fatally capturing Arbery as he jogged on Feb. 23 in Brunswick.

The McMichaels advised police they chased Arbery down as a result of they believed he matched the outline of a housebreaking suspect caught on surveillance video.

They had been arrested and charged with Arbery’s homicide final week after video of the capturing sparked nationwide outrage.
