Batgirl composer Natalie Holt shared a photo from the set of the upcoming DC film that includes a connection to Ezra Miller’s The Flash.
On Tuesday, Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah revealed that filming has finally begun after sharing a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram. Now, composer Natalie Holt, who is going from Loki to Batgirl, also shared a behind-the-scenes image on Twitter:
The Flash Film News on Twitter pointed out that the GCPD logo Natalie Holt shared a picture of is the same one that was spotted on the set of Ezra Miller’s The Flash. There’s been a lot of rumors that Michael Keaton will serve as the DCEU’s Batman moving forward, but those set photos from The Flash featured Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight.
It’s pretty clear at this point the upcoming Batgirl solo film will be set in the DC Extended Universe. How the DC Universe will look after The Flash film is anyone’s guess. You can see a comparison of the two GCPD logos below.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to direct Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script.
The Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. Barbara was last seen in a live-action feature film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, with Alicia Silverstone playing the iconic DC Comics character. JK Simmons also stars as Commissioner Gordon, with Brendan Fraser appearing as the villain Firefly.
