Charlize Theron frolics in the ocean on Mexican getaway

Charlize Theron was snapped this weekend enjoying a post-Thanksgiving jaunt to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where she frolicked in the ocean with mom Gerda Maritz.

The South African actress, 46, donned a one-piece swimsuit — the color of which has sharply divided Page Six; more of a rust, taupe, or mauve? — as she hit the waves Saturday with her mother. The star accessorized the seaside look with gold jewelry and a pair of shades.

After spending some time in the ocean, the “Bombshell” star emerged from the water to relax on a beach chair.

Theron and her mother — as well as her two daughters, Jackson and August — were snapped Friday in Cabo as well, where the actress wore a bright yellow swimsuit while enjoying another beach day.

The star has previously opened up about raising her adoptive daughters, who are black, and having important conversations about race with them during a 2020 appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.”

“The day I became a parent, I vowed that I would always tell them the truth in a way that they could handle. I feel like this is such an important moment for them — for all of us,” Theron said at the time.

“I wanted them to know what this was all about: what happened to George Floyd and to so many other black bodies that have died from this violence. I wanted them to have an awareness of how unfair and how unjust all of this is,” Theron added.

Theron has also been open about her relationship with her mother, who killed Charlize’s father, Charles Jacobus Theron, in 1993 after he drunkenly shot at the two of them multiple times. Gerda then grabbed her own gun and fired, killing Charles in defense of herself and a then-15-year-old Charlize.

“This family violence, this kind of violence that happens within the family, is something that I share with a lot of people,” she said on NPR’s “Fresh Air” in 2019. “I’m not ashamed to talk about it because I do think that the more we talk about these things, the more we realize we are not alone in any of it.”
