Christian Bale Says Joining ‘Star Wars’ Would Be A ‘Delight’

Batman and Thor: Love and Thunder star Christian Bale would still love to be part of the Star Wars universe someday.

After putting three films in as Batman for Christoper Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, Christian Bale made his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher. Given what occurred in Thor: Love and Thunder, Bale’s time in the MCU appears to be over already.

However, the Academy Award winner still has another major franchise he would like to join. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Christian Bale revealed he would be interested in joining a Star Wars project in the future:

“All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through. The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it. But look, if I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I did Empire of the Sun, and now, she runs the Star Wars universe.”

Could Bale Reunite With Taika Waititi For His Star Wars Movie?

Christian Bale almost appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it’s safe to say he probably would’ve played the Tobias Beckett role. Still, there will surely be another opportunity in the future. Bale notably loves reuniting with directors he’s worked with in the past, and since Taika Waititi is developing a Star Wars film of his own, perhaps Bale might join him in a galaxy far, far away.

Here is the synopsis for the ongoing Star Wars series, Andor:

“The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.”

Andor stars Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, and Genevieve O’Reilly. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Stephen Schiff, and Beau Willimon served as the writers of the Star Wars series, while Toby Haynes, Susanna White, and Benjamin Caron directed the episodes.

New episodes of Andor premiere every Wednesday on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Star Wars, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
