The city of Danbury in Connecticut is facing a “severe outbreak” of the coronavirus, officers warned Friday as they urged residents to stay home.
“This can be a severe outbreak in Danbury and we actually want an all fingers on deck strategy,” Appearing DPH Commissioner Deidre S. Gifford mentioned in an announcement.
From Aug. 2 to 20, the city recorded 178 new instances of the virus, in contrast to 40 over the earlier two weeks.
Well being officers are blaming the outbreak on outside barbecues, journey and youth sports activities, which have been canceled over the uptick.
Danbury residents also needs to keep away from pointless gatherings, church companies and restrict different indoor actions, officers mentioned.
Those that really feel they’ve been uncovered to the sickness are urged to self-quarantine for 14 days.
