Cops probe possible hate crime after noose found outside DC church

Washington D.C. police are investigating a possible hate crime after what seems to be a noose was found hanging on a tree Friday morning outside a church on Capitol Hill, in accordance with experiences.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is situated subsequent to the Library of Congress and simply two blocks from the US Capitol.  

“I used to be actually shocked, form of somewhat sick to my abdomen and weak kneed,” Rev. Michele Morgan instructed The Submit.

Members of Congress have been recognized to attend the church, she mentioned, which hosts the Nationwide Vigil for All Victims of Gun Violence every December.

Native councilman Charles Allen posted a photograph of it on Twitter, calling it “a despicable image & act of hate.”

The noose has since been eliminated.

“That image of hatred has no place in our churchyard, in our metropolis, or our nation,” Rev. Morgan posted on the church web site yesterday, following a prayer service on the tree. “I do know that this image causes worry in individuals’s hearts.”

“These kind of offenses are taken critically and are fully unacceptable,” the D.C. Metropolitan Police Division mentioned in an announcement reported by Fox Information. “We’re at present investigating this as a possible hate crime.”
