‘Doctor Strange 2’ Composer Danny Elfman Shares BTS Photos

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness composer Danny Elfman has shared a series of new behind-the-scenes photos.

Danny Elfman is no stranger to scoring superhero movies. The Oscar-nominated composer has previously worked on Tim Burton’s Batman and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. With Raimi returning to the superhero scene, the hotshot Marvel director has brought Elfman in to compose the music for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

With the Doctor Strange sequel set to release in just a few short months, one can imagine that work on the score has been ramping up quite excessively. Taking to Twitter, Danny Elfman shares behind-the-scenes photos of himself and fellow composer Steve Bartek working on the music for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With social distancing still in effect, Elfman and Bartek can be seen conducting the orchestra for the score via Zoom.

Danny Elfman’s work has always managed to balance a whimsical nature with traditional operatic tones, so it’ll be exciting to see him take on the psychedelic and mind-boggling Doctor Strange sequel. The good doctor will be seen handling the chaotic multiverse alongside former Avenger Scarlett Witch, Sorcerer Supreme Wong, and newcomer America Chavez, who is poised to be a key part of Doctor Strange’s plans.

Doctor Strange was last seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Here is the synopsis:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens in theaters on May 6, 2022.
