A bunch of former Border Patrol officials are begging Congress to handle “our damaged immigration system” — which they are saying is of “grave concern” and brought on the “present disaster” on the southern border.
The letter to Senate Majority Chief Chuck Schumer, Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Chief Mitch McConnell and Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy was signed by 4 former chiefs of the Border Patrol and 5 former chief patrol brokers.
“On behalf of retired Chiefs of america Border Patrol, we write with grave concern concerning the present disaster on the southwest border,” the group wrote, Fox Information reported Wednesday. “It’s time to deal with our damaged immigration system in addition to the push and pull components encouraging mass migration, and its impacts on border safety.”
The ex-Border Patrol officials labored underneath each Republicans and Democrats, starting with President Invoice Clinton, the outlet reported.
“The cycle of damaged immigration crises have to be a precedence for Congress,” their letter continues. “The patchwork system in place continues to fail us all … prison organizations are capitalizing on this disaster, exploiting these susceptible unaccompanied youngsters and their households whereas on the identical time using this distraction to overwhelm frontline Border Patrol brokers.”
Their plea for help comes because the Biden administration refuses to acknowledge that there’s a disaster on the southern border — the place Central American migrants, together with 1000’s of unaccompanied youngsters, have flocked within the wake of Biden’s election.
