Ex-Wisconsin pharmacist pleads guilty to spoiling COVID-19 vaccine

A former Wisconsin pharmacist has pleaded guilty to spoiling dozens of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Steven Brandenburg, 46, who believed the vaccine would mutate human DNA, was charged in January with two counts of making an attempt to tamper with client merchandise, and faces up to 10 years in jail.

He pleaded guilty to each counts in federal courtroom Tuesday.

Brandenburg was working on the Grafton Aurora Medical Middle when he left 50 vials of the Moderna vaccine unrefrigerated for 12 hours in December, authorities mentioned.

The vials contained about 570 doses of the vaccine. Brandenburg was later fired from the job.

The pharmacist allegedly confessed to staff that he needed to destroy the vaccine as a result of he believed it wasn’t protected.

Medical consultants say there’s no proof to help the COVID-19 vaccine is dangerous.
