Four people on the FBI’s terror watchlist have been arrested at the southern border since October, a report stated.
Three of the people are from Yemen, and the opposite is from Serbia, the Customs and Border Safety company confirmed to Congress on Tuesday, based on Axios.
The terror watchlist contains people who’re “identified to be or fairly suspected of being concerned in terrorist actions,” the report stated, citing the FBI.
The revelation comes as Republican lawmakers touring the border on Monday stated some suspected terrorists had been heading to the crossing — together with the tens of hundreds migrants usually from Mexico or Central America.
“People that they’ve on the watchlist for terrorism at the moment are beginning to exploit the southern border,” Rep. John Katko (R-NY) stated. “We have to get up.”
Prior to now two fiscal years, fewer than 4 people on the watchlist had been busted at the border, sources advised Axios. Six people from Yemen and Bangladesh had been arrested in fiscal 12 months 2018.
And in fiscal 12 months 2017, greater than 3,700 people on the watchlist had been stopped by the Division of Homeland Safety — primarily at airports, the report stated.
