“Gatto”: Pixar announces an original new film for 2027

The animation studio took advantage of the Annecy festival to announce the big news, with a first visual. And it will be a cat story …

No, Pixar does not only put on the consequences. After Elioexpected this summer, will come Gatto.

It is in France, as part of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, that Disney and Pixar have chosen to reveal this highly anticipated new project.

Which was to be a simple presentation of Elio quickly turned into a surprise announcement: Pete Doctercreative director of Pixarunveiled a busy calendar, with a brand new original film in mind. A revelation welcomed by a salvo of applause in a boiling room.

Gatto Already has an exit planned for 2027 and we discover a first visual, with a cat in Venice.

Car Gattothat means “cat” in Italian and the action will take place in Italy, on the side of Venice. In this maritime city full of mysteries, a black cat named Nero begins to wonder if he really lived the right lives. In debt with a local feline godfather, Nero finds himself in a delicate situation. To get out of it, he will have to establish a friendship as improbable as it is Esential – a meeting that could well give meaning to his existence … Unless the dark and secret side of Venice wins before.

Back in the Boot for Pixar, three years after the very loved Luca. And it’s no coincidence: it is the Italian director Enrico Casarosa – and the producer Andrea Warren – already behind Luca Who cook us this beautiful Gatto.
