A 66-year-old grandmother was stabbed to death walking her dog near a Los Angeles park, authorities mentioned.
Jeanne Edgar was near Lone Hill Park in San Dimas on Thursday afternoon when a “crazed man” began attacking her fluffy white pooch named Sachi, NBC Los Angeles reported.
When she tried to intervene, she was stabbed to death, authorities mentioned.
Different bystanders tried to intervene by throwing rocks on the man, who authorities later recognized as 23-year-old Ricardo Saldivar, the outlet reported.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they pronounced Egar and her dog each useless.
Saldivar was taken to a hospital, the place he was evaluated for head accidents earlier than he was launched into police custody.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of homicide and tried homicide.
Saldivar is being held on $2 million bail and he’s set to seem in court docket Monday, Fox11 reported.
Authorities haven’t launched a motive for the ugly assault.
Edgar’s family members remembered the mom and grandmother as “big-hearted.”
“Jeanne was a lovely and big-hearted particular person and she or he didn’t deserve this,” pal Linda Sanders instructed information station KABC.
She mentioned that Edgar usually introduced her beloved pup Sachi on walks.
“She went to totally different dog parks on a regular basis. She had candy little Sachi, her little child lady and she or he walked her on a regular basis,” Sanders instructed the outlet.
