Dramatic video has emerged of a heroic maid grabbing a toddler and dashing the woman to safety after Beirut was rocked by a devastating explosion that has killed at the very least 137 individuals.
The footage reveals the girl vacuuming on a terrace because the baby performs close by — after which all hell breaks free, because the blast’s shock wave shatters the home windows and sends the blinds flying.
The fast-thinking maid swoops over the woman, grabs her and pulls her shut to her chest as she flees inside.
Beirut’s governor, Marwan Abboud, has in contrast the devastation attributable to the blast to the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan throughout World Warfare II.
The video was shared on Twitter by journalist Muhammed Lila, who wrote: “That is the precise second a maid risked her personal life to save slightly baby, simply because the explosion occurred. Heroes will be wherever.”
