Hollywood cries Robert Redford: all tributes from stars to legend
Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Scarlett Johansson or Jane Fonda hailed the memory of an actor and admired director of all.
Cinema cries one of its giants. Robert Redford died on Tuesday morning at the age of 89 in his Utah house. The actor, director and founder of the Sundance Festival leaves behind an indelible imprint in the history of the 7th art. Since the announcement of his death, tributes have flocking from all sides.
Jane fondahis partner of Barefoot in the park (1967), shared an overwhelming statement with Entertainment Weekly: “I can’t stop crying. This morning, learning that Bob had left, it struck me hard. He had a lot for me and it was a beautiful person in all respects. He embodied an America for which we must continue to fight.”
Meryl Streepunforgettable heroine of Out of Africa (1985) by his side, praised his friend’s memory: “A lion has left us. Rest in peace, my wonderful friend.”
