Houston family accused of running sex trafficking operation out of bar

4 members of a Texas family are accused of running a sex-trafficking operation out of a Houston bar for greater than a decade, federal prosecutors stated Thursday.

The suspects, Maria Botello, 54, her two grownup kids and her nephew, allegedly compelled waitresses at a bar referred to as Puerto Alegre to have sex with shoppers in an operation that ran from 2007 to 2020, based on the US Legal professional’s Workplace within the Lone Star State.

Botello allegedly organized the encounters, the place shoppers paid $70 for 15 minutes with the victims, which included one minor, based on a prison grievance.

The mom’s 28-year-old son, Edgar Botello and 23-year-old nephew, Arian Botello, used weapons to implement and intimidate the victims into compliance, the grievance stated.

Yudy Lucatero, 31, Botello’s daughter, mentioned along with her mom the principles and plans for the operation, based on prosecutors.

The family members have been charged with sex trafficking and conspiracy, authorities stated.
