Niecy Nash didn’t find salvation in her church group.
In an interview for UMC.television’s four-part docuseries “Behind Her Religion,” 50-year-old Nash opens up about how she thought becoming a member of the ladies’s group at her native church may assist her be “delivered” from a few of her issues.
“I ran from ache for a very long time, and then I joined the ladies’s group at church and we had been supposed to — the aim was to develop in your religion and turn out to be a lady of God and lady…these girls need to speak about recipes,” Nash explains in a clip solely obtained by Web page Six.
“I don’t know what was taking place, and I used to be similar to, ‘Effectively are we going to begin rising? What are we doing in right here as a result of I do know I received some foolishness that I would like to be delivered from.’ And I nearly type of tousled the group…”
The “Claws” star, who lately finalized her divorce from Jay Tucker, remembers a lady complaining about somebody at work calling her “the b-word,” which appeared to irk Nash, who wished to speak about life’s greater points.
“Everybody was attempting to piecemeal her again collectively, and I used to be like, ‘I’m so over this. To start with, that’s precisely what you’re, so cease it proper now, and let me let you know what’s mistaken with me, and let me let you know what’s mistaken with you…and can we get to that,” she continues.
Nash’s response wasn’t well-received by the group, as she recalled them saying, “‘She learn us all for filth.’”
“I do know. I’m simply saying can we speak in regards to the filthy half? ‘Trigger that’s the half. All of us received the half, and we are able to babysit that half,” the actress remembers.
“I simply received bored with doing life the best way I had been doing it,” she says, “and I didn’t really feel any higher for it.”
