The latest episode of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye finally introduced a long-awaited Marvel villain.
Spoilers ahead for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye.
Hawkeye is gearing itself up for a chaotic and satisfying finale. The latest episode not only upped the ante considerably for the Hawkeye team but also expanded the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unprecedented way – one that will leave fans wholly satisfied. One of the major mysteries surrounding the series has been who the heck Maya’s uncle is. The character was previously seen off-screen and was teased as someone with a larger-than-life aura. Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton even described him as someone who’ll do whatever it takes to get to the top.
Speculation for the last few months has suggested that Maya’s uncle and the head honcho of the Tracksuit Mafia is none other than Wilson Fisk. The daunting mastermind was last seen in Netflix’s Daredevil series, which was strategically canceled once Marvel Studios began to move their serialized content over to Disney Plus.
Rumors persisted that Vincent D’Onofrio would reprise his role as Kingpin for the Hawkeye series and lo and behold: it was all true. The latest episode of the Jeremy Renner series finally brought the iconic Marvel villain into the mix. And it turns out Kingpin has tons of beef with Hawkeye. As the episode comes to a close, Yelena Belova reveals to Kate Bishop that none other than Eleanor Bishop and Kingpin hired her to assassinate Clint Barton. That’s a tough pill to swallow for Kate.
Though we don’t see Vincent D’Onofrio in action as the Marvel villain, we do see an image of him wearing his instantly recognizable white suit alongside Vera Farmiga’s Eleanor Bishop. Kingpin will more than likely become a major force in the upcoming episode, which is set to be the finale.
Here is the synopsis for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye:
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh also returned in her Black Widow role.
The first five episodes of Hawkeye are now available to stream on Disney Plus, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the Jeremy Renner series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
