“It was discovered at eight p.m. final evening at a spot not far from the place we retrieved the [flight data recorder],” Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi mentioned at a press convention on Wednesday, the Straits Instances reported.

A preliminary report launched in February relied on info from the airliner’s flight information recorder, which was discovered inside days of the crash together with the casing and beacon of the cockpit recorder.

The February report blamed the crash on an engine thrust imbalance, which precipitated the Boeing 737-500 to roll onto its aspect then plummet into the ocean.

The crash occurred shortly after the plane took off for Pontianak, one other metropolis in Indonesia, in line with the Straits Instances.

The jet vanished from radar inside 4 minutes of taking off.
