Inmate fatally shot after officer taken hostage in Oklahoma jail: reports

An inmate at a jail in Oklahoma was shot and killed Saturday throughout a standoff with police, after a correction officer was taken hostage, in accordance with reports.

The officer was rescued and is recovering in an area hospital, Information 9 reporter Storme Jones Tweeted, citing Oklahoma Metropolis police.

Inmates on the Oklahoma County Detention Middle in Oklahoma Metropolis reportedly took the officer’s keys and tied him up someday Saturday afternoon, NBC affiliate KFOR TV reported, citing a public data officer.

The officer was delivering treatment to an inmate on the 10th flooring when the assault occurred, in accordance with a supply cited by KWTV in Oklahoma Metropolis. Inmates recorded a video of the hostage and posted a video to the officer’s Fb web page, KFOR reported.

Footage posted to Fb appeared to point out the officer on his knees, his arms restrained behind his again and his face masks off, in accordance with clips shared by a KFOR reporter.
