The Australian actor revealed in Charmed, before exploding in NIP/Tuck, had also been the first Fatalis Doctor of Marvel in the Fantastic Four of 2005.

A few days after the death of Michael Madsen, we cry today Julian McMahon.

The Australian actor died on July 2 from cancer against which he was fighting in private. We do not know more about the causes of his death at the moment. He was 56 years old.

It’s his wife, Kelly McMahonwho confirmed the sad news in a press release sent to the site Deadline :

“It is the open heart that I want to share with the world that my dear husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a courageous fight against cancer. Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his job, and he loved his fans. His biggest wish was to bring joy to a little people. Mourning.

Son of the former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahonJulian had started his television career in 1989 in the Australian Soap The Power, the Passion. He took his first steps in the United States in 1993 in the soap opera Another World On NBC. He then continues the regular roles in the series Profiler (Nbc), where he embodies agent John Grant, then especially in Charmed On The WB, where he becomes the famous demon Cole Turner, cursed love of Phoebe Halliwell, alias Alyssa Milano. The actress shares her great sadness today on her insta:

“My heart is broken. Julian McMahon was magic. This smile. This laugh. This talent. This presence. He entered a room and filled it – not only charisma, but also kindness. Malice. With a deep and sincere understanding” she writes.

“We spent years together on Charmed – Years of scenes, stories, and moments between the catch. He made me feel safe as an actress. Seen, as a woman. He challenged me, teased me, supported me. We were very different, and yet, in a way, we always understood. ”

“Julian was not only my fictional husband. He was a dear friend. Of those who get news. Who remember. Who share. Who tell you the truth, even when it is difficult – but always with love.”

“Losing it seems unreal. Too early. Too unfair.”

After two magic seasons in Charmed, McMahon had won the first role of the Ryan Murphy medical series, the famous Nip/Tuckin which he played he plastic and seducer surgeon. It is this role of Christian Troy (2003–2010) which truly propels it to the rank of international star.

Thanks to this new popularity, he had been cast in the cinema, in his most emblematic role on the large screen: that of the formidable Doctor Fatalis In The Fantastic 4 (2005) et The fantastic 4 and the surf of money (2007), made by Tim Story. He then made a formidable Victor von Doom, iconic villain of Marvel … which Robert Downey Jr. will take up from Avengers: Doomsday (2026).

John Gruffuddwhich gave him the reply embodying Reed Richards, cries the disappearance of his comrade: “Even if we played enemies on the screen, working together was always filled with lightness and laughter. Each meeting with him was a pleasure. It was an honor to be Dr. Richards in front of his Fatalis. My heart goes to his wife and family.”
