Karl Urban Returns As The Leader Of ‘The Boys’ In A New Image

Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher returns as the leader of The Boys in a new image.

One of the more underrated aspects of The Boys has been Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher. The leader of the team, Urban’s character hates superheroes, blaming Homelander, the series Superman parody, for the death of his wife. Throughout the series, he acts as a mentor to Jack Quaid’s Hughie Campbell with the latter’s arc seemingly involving him realizing what a volatile and horrible person Billy actually is.

The second season of the series ended with everyone, including Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher, getting the upper hand on Homelander but not before Billy’s wife was accidentally killed. The latest trailer for The Boys seems to indicate that Billy isn’t done in his battle against superheroes and may even be turning on his old comrades. However, a number of them aren’t quite ready to turn against him.

In a newly released image, Karl Urban returns as Billy Butcher apparently leading Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko Miyashiro, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, and Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, all ready to continue the fight. You can see the full image below:

Here is the synopsis for The Boys Season 2:

The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, and Colby Minifie, and Jensen Ackles.
