The fourth episode of Hawkeye featured a chaotic and intense battle with a surprising Marvel hero.
Spoilers ahead for Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye.
The first tease we received for the Hawkeye series was at the end of Black Widow. During the film’s post-credits sequence, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine approached Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova with a mysterious request. Mourning her sister, Natasha Romanoff, Belova rejected Valentina’s assassination request. That is until Valentina revealed that the Black Widow would be after Clint Barton, the man who “murdered” Belova’s sister.
Cut to Christmas time in New York and the latest episode of Hawkeye features Clint Barton and Kate Bishop bickering away as usual. As they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the Tracksuit Mafia and their leader, Maya Lopez, an insane fight kicks off on a rooftop near Echo’s apartment. The masked assailant is decked out with tech, including stingers, which indicates to the audience that they’re using Black Widow tech.
When the mask is removed, we realize it’s Yelena, exacting her revenge on Hawkeye. Of course, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop have no idea who she is, as the Black Widow quickly escapes without saying a word. Now that the Hawkeye duo is battling Black Widow and the Tracksuit Mafia on different fronts, things are about to get messy before they get better.
Here is the synopsis for Hawkeye:
Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga and Alaqua Cox. Florence Pugh is expected to return in her Black Widow role.
The first four episodes of Hawkeye are now available to stream on Disney Plus, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the Jeremy Renner series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
