Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence will be the stars of the next Martin Scorsese

Three Oscar winners gathered for the adaptation of an enigmatic novel.

During the preview ofOne battle after another, Leonardo DiCaprio recently declared that his wish was to redo a film with Martin Scorsese : “Working again with Marty, for this is the absolute gift. It is a national treasure and the largest director in the world. So, if I have another opportunity, it would be like realizing a dream.”

And they were not lyrics in the air! Deadline has just revealed that Leo would be on the poster for the next feature film by Scorsese. It will be their 7th film together, after Gangs of New York, Aviator, Infiltrated, Shutter Island, Wall Street Wolf et Killers of the Flower Moon. DiCaprio will share the show with Jennifer Lawrence. They had already given themselves the replica in Don’t look -up: cosmic denialthe green farce of Adam McKay, a big cardboard on Netflix in 2021.

He has since tried to mount several films, including a biopic by Frank Sinatra and an adaptation of The Devil In The White Citywithout success. But this time it is the right one. The 82 -year -old director will adapt What Happens At Night by Peter Cameron. Published in France under the title What happens at nightthis novel tells the story of an American couple who goes to a city in Europe full of mist and snow to adopt a child.

They stay in a mysterious hotel close to the orphanage, the Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, populated by a gallery of enigmatic characters, ranging from a flamboyant ex-singer to a Businessman debauched via a curious healer. A disturbing story on the couple, death and fatherhood, with an atmosphere at the Shutter IslandDennis Lehane’s novel brought to the screen by Scorsese and DiCaprio in 2010.

After Killers of the Flower MoonScorsese continues his collaboration with Apple Original Films which is currently negotiating with Studiocanal, the owner of the rights of the book. Deadline Add that filming could start next January. Several Scorsese projects have been announced and then abandoned in recent months, but with this attractive Oscar winner What Happens At Night should materialize well.

Scorsese has never directed Jennifer Lawrence, but he recently produced Die, My Love (photo above), Lynne Ramsay’s film where she is in a relationship with Robert Pattinson. Presented in competition at the last Cannes Film Festival, he still has no French release date.
