Let There Be Carnage’ Getting Theatrical Re-Release

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be making a return to select theaters later this week.

Sony had an impressive 2021 with the massive box office success of Spider-Man: No Way Home last month and Venom: Let There Be Carnage back in October. The Venom sequel has already been released on home media formats, but some will have the opportunity to experience all the carnage again or for the first time on the big screen very soon.

On Twitter, the official Venom account announced the Sony film will be re-released in theaters on January 14th. Sony originally had Jared Leto’s Morbius film coming out later this month before being pushed back to April.

The Morbius delay was reportedly due to the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping Sony from bringing the Venom sequel back to theaters. Perhaps Sony wants to get audiences to see the film after Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock appeared in the No Way Home mid-credits scene. You can find out if the 2021 film is playing at a theater near you by clicking the link in the tweet below.

Here is the synopsis for the Sony-Marvel film:

“After finding a host body in investigative reporter Eddie Brock, the alien symbiote must face a new enemy, Carnage, the alter ego of serial killer Cletus Kasady.”

Directed by Andy Serkis from a script written by Kelly Marcel, the film stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is available on all home media formats and will return to theaters on January 14.
