Lynda Carter put her best foot forward.
On Friday the “Wonder Woman” star appeared on the red carpet barefoot at the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Woman of Leadership Award ceremony at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Carter, 70, looked glamorous in a sequin dress with a slit up one leg, sans the usual heels.
She was there to support pal designer Diane von Furstenberg, who was honored with the Feminist Award at the ceremony. The award was established by the late Supreme Court associate justice, as well as Chairman of the Dwight D. Opperman Foundation, Julie Opperman.
Carter may be following a fashion trend started by Selena Gomez.
At the recent 2022 SAG Awards, the “Spring Breakers” star sauntered on stage barefoot to present an award alongside Martin Short. The actress, 29, had worn black heels on the red carpet but ditched them after she tripped and fell to her knees in front of photographers.
Meanwhile, Carter is still mourning the loss of her husband, Robert Altman who died in 2021 at the age of 73.
“It’s been one year since I said goodbye to my husband, Robert A. Altman,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two of them last month. “There are years that feel just too short, and then there are years that seem to go on forever. This year without Robert has felt like a decade. Each day, I have had to learn how to live my life and understand who I am without him.
“I wake up and strive to create things that bring others joy, because that is exactly what my husband did every single day,” she went on. “More importantly, Robert always cared so deeply for the people around him. Whether he was your husband, father, son, brother, or simply a friend, he was the best you could ask for. Robert lived life to the fullest and made a resounding impact, and he will continue to be loved and remembered. I am just a breath away from you, Robert. I will always be in love with you.”
Carter and Altman married in 1984 and had two children.
