Mary J. Blige turns 50 with star-studded virtual ‘shock’ party

Mary J. Blige turned 50 on Monday and was fêted with an all-day virtual “shock birthday bash,” that includes gospel nice Karen Clark Sheard, Missy Elliott, Gabrielle Union, Widespread, Angela Bassett, and others.

Sheard kicked off the party by singing “Blissful Birthday,” whereas Blige’s household and buddies left messages for the queen of hip-hop soul.

“Blissful birthday, dearest darling Mary. I’m so glad I get to stay in a time and house the place you exist… I’m past thrilled that I’ve had moments to share the tender facet of you and the exuberant facet of you as properly,” Bassett stated.
