Miami mayor asks Trump to suspend domestic and international flights from COVID-19 hotspots to Miami Airport

Miami mayor Francis Suarez requested President Trump in a letter on Thursday to suspend flights to Miami International Airport from COVID-19 hotspots.

“As Mayor of the Metropolis of Miami, I’m requesting that you simply instantly suspend flights from international and domestic COVID-19 hotspots to Miami International Airport, and now prioritize the motion of medical provides, meals, and private protecting tools to include COVID-19,” the mayor wrote within the letter. 

The letter did not specify what international locations or states would qualify as hotspots, however the hardest-hit states embody New York, New Jersey, California and Washington. 

On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a statewide order that every one residents should keep dwelling through the coronavirus outbreak, becoming a member of nearly all of states which have already issued related restrictions on individuals’s actions.
