Peacemaker trailer season 2: an explosive return connected to Superman

The trailer for season 2 of Peacemaker was unveiled during the San Diego Comic-Com. The DC series, carried by John Cena, will return to HBO Max on August 22, and will take place a month after the events of the new film Supermanthe reboot of the DC universe orchestrated by James Gunn.

James Gunn, now in charge of DC Universe, said this season has been developed in parallel with other DC projects, in particular Superman, and that it is fully in this new continuity. “” It is very linked to Superman and what comes after “He said. “” I had a general idea, but the end result is quite different. »

A technological and narrative link with Superman

One of the central elements of the season will be the QUC (Quantum Unfolding Chamber), seen in the first season. This technology is also developed in Superman, and will become a central element of the plot in Peacemaker Season 2. Gunn even suggests that some characters in the film Superman will appear in the series.

John Cena, who came in costume on stage, has excited the public. Gunn spoke of a character in full evolution: “ Peacemaker is a different man this season. He faces the demons he accepted in the first. »

Even if the first season was born at the time of the DCEU, Gunn confirms that Peacemaker remains canon in the new DC universe. This season 2 will therefore serve as a direct gateway between Superman and future projects.
