Phylicia Rashad has been named because the dean of the Fine Arts department at Howard College.
The “Cosby Present” star graduated magna cum laude from the traditionally Black Washington D.C. faculty with a bachelor’s diploma in nice artwork in 1970.
Based on CNN, she’s since served as a visitor lecturer and adjunct school member and carried out “grasp’s-level lessons at many faculties, universities and humanities organizations” together with Howard, New York College, Vassar Faculty, Carnegie Mellon and The Black Arts Institute of the Stella Adler Studio of Appearing.
“It’s a privilege to serve on this capability and to work with the Howard College administration, school and college students in reestablishing the Faculty of Fine Arts,” Rashad stated in an announcement to the community.
Rashad will begin her new place on July 1, reporting to Provost Anthony Ok. Wutoh.

Her ardour for the humanities and scholar success makes her an ideal match for this position.”
