Prematurely opened Hamptons retailers shuttered by cops

Retail shops in Montauk had been shuttered final weekend over what gave the impression to be a misunderstanding over guidelines for reopening.

“There have been six cops in entrance of our doorways,” Kelly B. store proprietor Kelly Brown instructed us. “Then they known as [the department of] code enforcement. It was ridiculous.”

On Monday, East Hampton City Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc had an impromptu assembly with house owners, and the principles (which permit pickup) had been cleared up. “I can’t inform you how a lot this implies to us,” Brown mentioned. “We’re a small enterprise.”

Outside eating shall be allowed beginning Wednesday after a letter from Suffolk County officers to Gov. Cuomo.
