Michelle Yeoh and Pete Davidson are joining the Transformers universe.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts director Steven Caple Jr. has announced that Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh have joined the Paramount Pictures production. Caple Jr. broke the news on his official Instagram page, sharing videos of Yeoh and Davidson during some voice acting work.
Michelle Yeoh is lending her voice talents to the role of Airazor, a member of the Maximals. Meanwhile, Pete Davidson is voicing an Autobot known as Mirage. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts marks the live-action debut of Airazor while Mirage was previously seen in 2011’s Dark of the Moon.
Rise of the Beasts is being planned as the first chapter in a new trilogy of Transformers films from Paramount. The film’s screenplay was written by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters, Erich Hoeber and Jon Hoeber.
Set during 1994, Rise of the Beasts follows two archeologists as they come into contact with three factions of Transformers — the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrorcons. Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Vélez and Tobe Nwigwe spearhead the human cast while Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman are doing voice work as Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, respectively.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 9, 2023. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Transformers franchise and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
