The actor rumored to play John Constantine in J.J. Abrams’ planned HBO Max series shared his thoughts on the news of a sequel to the Keanu Reeves film.
John Constantine has received his fair share of projects over the years between the Keanu Reeves film and the 2014 series starring Matt Ryan. Before the news of Warner Bros. Discovery bringing back Keanu Reeves and Francis Lawrence for a sequel to the 2005 film, J.J. Abrams was developing a Constantine project of his own.
Who Was Rumored To Play HBO Max’s John Constantine?
J.J. Abrams’ Constantine and Madame X shows originally planned for HBO Max will now be shopped to other streamers, but it’s unclear if they will remain in the same state they were in if picked up. According to a past rumor from The Illuminerdi, Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù was set to play John Constantine in the now uncertain Abrams series. Following the news of the Keanu Reeves sequel, the actor tweeted out the following:
