Smother Season 3 Storyline:

In the first scene, a fight on a clifftop leads to a man’s death on the beach below, which is what most shows do these days. This is the mystery that the whole show will be about. Then we go back in time to when Denis, a successful businessman, throws a party for his wife Val’s 50th birthday.

Their three daughters are also there: Jenny, who is pregnant and works as a single doctor for her father’s approval only; Anna, who is in the final stages of a custody fight with her husband’s ex-wife over his two sons; and Grace, the younger son of the three, who has a mental illness but is not on medication at the moment.

There are also many other friends and family members at the party. Grace’s ex-husband Joe, a police detective, is there, as is Denis’ brother Frank, who seems to be having an affair with Val. Val’s cold relationship with her best friend Alannah shows that she certainly slept with Denis and Rory’s ex-wife, Elaine.

Denis wants to give a speech in which he talks about how he and Val broke up and how Val had an inappropriate relationship with her young lover. Denis also tells Val that once she tries to find out about him, she will definitely come back to him.

As you might guess, Denis was the one on the cliff later that crazy night. The same night that Val found out, a shocked Grace went out and found out that Joe and Cathy were not only dating but also were expecting a baby and that her father was going to sell the café.

All of the episodes of the show keep adding more seeds of suspicions and mysteries and spreading them out at just the right rate.

Most of the season 2 of Smother was about how hard it was for Aherns. The family was in clear and present danger, and they didn’t know who they could trust. The last episode of the first season was very exciting.

In the concluding episode, Val finally talks to Finn about what he did. Finn hears from the matriarch what happened on Denis’s last night, along with Elaine. The resulting chaos and Finn’s injuries make for an interesting plot in season 3.

After her husband Denis’s tragic death, Val Ahern (Dervla Kirwan) looks into what might have happened and how her husband related to their children, stepchildren, and other family members. But as she digs deeper into her family history, she learns more about how controlling he was and finds some dark secrets that could tear the family apart.

Treasure Entertainment’s producer, Robert Walpole, said, “Smother is a complicated and clutching family drama that shows a modern view of rural Ireland and features a group of really great new and well-known actors and actresses. Alibi is a perfect fit for the show, and we’re glad they’re bringing it to audiences in the UK “.
