Sad news within the family Rossi and Martínez-Bordiú. Jean Marie-Rossi, the prestigious French antiquarian for which Carmen Martínez-Bordiú (70 years) left everything and with whom he married and had his little daughter, Cynthia (36), died this Sunday, December 5, at the age of 91.

This has been confirmed by the French newspaper Le Figaro through sources close to the famous businessman, who have revealed to the aforementioned medium that Rossi has died “in peace” and “with a calm mind”.

Figure of Jean-Marie Rossi came into the lives of all Spaniards in the late 70s, early 80s, when Carmen Martínez-Bordiú she separated from her first husband, Alfonso de Borbón and Dampierre, father of her two oldest children, and married this well-known Gallic antiquarian.

The wedding was quite controversial at the time, as it should be remembered that Carmen is the granddaughter of the dictator Francisco Franco and, beyond her divorce, the famous socialite gave the ‘yes, I want’ in a civil way with a man 22 years older than her. The link took place on December 11, 1984 in Rueil-Malmaison, in France.

During the early years of her romance with Rossi, Carmen was singled out as a person who had “abandoned” in Spain to her children to live her own love story in France with her new partner.

“I never abandoned my children. I fought for joint custody because I had two children. Before they did not give custody to the mother if you had two children, if they had been girls they would have given it to me,” he said in a television interview with Bertin Osborne (66).

United by the tragedy -the same year that Carmen had to live the misfortune of the death of her son Francisco in a car accident and Rossi, idem, with one of her daughters in another mishap, in this case with the propeller of a boat in the Bahamas – together they decided to start their own family. As a result of their love, their only daughter in common was born on April 28, 1985: María Cynthia Francisca Matilda Rossi Martínez Bordiú.

Nine years of love, ending in divorce in 1995. Carmen has always had nice words for whoever was her second husband, the father of her young daughter. “Jean-Marie taught me art and taught me to be a woman,” she declared in the same interview with Osborne.

Cynthia, the great pride of Carmen and Jean-Marie, married on December 18, 2015 with his partner, Benjamin Rougetb. With more than 60 photos, the magazine ¡HOLA! did a review of the entire link exclusively. A great wedding attended by 350 guests, including, of course, their parents. The preparation of the bride, her arrival at the City Hall of the VIII District of Paris (where the civil wedding was celebrated), the banquet and the subsequent dance were immortalized. Since then, little has been known about Jean-Marie Rossi until this Sunday, when it was known the sad news of his departure.
