“Thirtysomething” actor Timothy Busfield says he’s “the luckiest man on earth” as a result of he’s married to “Little Home on the Prairie” star Melissa Gilbert.
The 2, who dwell in Manhattan, tied the knot in 2013, and by the sound of it, Busfield, now 62, had been circling Gilbert, now 55, for years.
“A pal of mine, John McNamara who created ‘The Magicians,’ we pitch a film to her again within the ’80s or ’90s and she or he wasn’t concerned with us or the film,” he defined to Web page Six on the premiere of his new TV present “For Life” this week.
“Fortunately time glided by and I began to look good to her I suppose,” he defined. “I simply lucked out. I needed to wait until she was in her late 40s. I couldn’t compete with Rob Lowe or Bruce Boxleitner for God’s sake. These guys have chins!”
Gilbert’s earlier relationships embody a wedding to “Babylon 5” actor Bruce Boxleitner and a protracted on-again, off-again romance with Rob Lowe that included a damaged engagement. Busfield has been married twice earlier than.
