Trump calls Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser ‘incompetent’ in Black Lives Matter feud

WASHINGTON — President Trump upbraided Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser on Friday, accusing her of being “incompetent” as tensions between the pair escalate.

In a collection of tweets, Trump ripped Bowser after the Democratic mayor painted “Black Lives Matter” in big letters on the road resulting in the White Home earlier Friday and demanded the president withdraw the hundreds of Nationwide Guard troops deployed to the nation’s capital.

“The incompetent Mayor of Washington, D.C., @MayorBowser, who’s funds is completely uncontrolled and is continually coming again to us for ‘handouts’, is now combating with the Nationwide Guard, who saved her from nice embarrassment over the past variety of nights,” Trump tweeted.

“If she doesn’t deal with these women and men effectively, then we’ll convey in a unique group of women and men!” he continued.

Bowser, who’s African American, clashed with Trump after his administration determined to flood the area with troops final weekend after peaceable protests over the loss of life of George Floyd made approach for rioting, looting and arson.

The Democrat, who assumed workplace in 2015, mocked the president for hiding “alone” and “afraid” contained in the closely fortified White Home and mentioned she needed the out-of-state Nationwide Guard to go away after she ended a curfew for residents.

The White Home returned hearth Thursday night, telling The Publish that Bowser’s lack of management compelled Trump to revive regulation and order in Washington.

In an enormous political assertion Friday morning, Bowser designated the sq. in entrance of Lafayette Park as Black Lives Matter Plaza and ordered metropolis staffers and native artists to color “Black Lives Matter” in monumental yellow letters on the road that results in the White Home.

“There was a dispute this week about whose road that is,” John Falcicchio, Bowser’s chief of employees, wrote in a tweet.

“Mayor Bowser needed to make it abundantly clear that that is DC’s road and to honor demonstrators who [were] peacefully protesting on Monday night,” he continued, referring to the protesters who have been forcefully cleared by the Nationwide Guard from Lafayette Park.

However the transfer didn’t win Bowser the help of Washington’s Black Lives Matter chapter, which described it as a “performative distraction from actual coverage adjustments.”
