Wakanda Forever’ Resumes Filming As Letitia Wright Returns To Set

Production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed with lead star Letitia Wright back on set.

Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was injured back in August whilst filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The injury was considered minor at the time, with production shooting around the star. It became clear as filming continued that the injury was far more grave than expected and production on the Marvel sequel was halted. It appeared that everything that could be shot without Wright’s involvement was completed.

Principal photography was set to resume after the holidays and lo and behold, production has started up once again. The BBC reports that Letitia Wright has recovered from her injuries and that production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed today in the United Kingdom.

The film is set to release later this November but fans worrying about a potential delay shouldn’t stress as a representative of Letitia Wright confirmed that everything is on schedule. Shuri is expected to hold a larger role in the Black Panther sequel after Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing in 2020. Details on the sequel remain slim and it remains to be seen who exactly takes on the mantle of Black Panther going forward.

Here is the synopsis for the first Black Panther film:

After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, young T’Challa returns home to the isolated high-tech African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king – and Black Panther – is tested when he’s drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, he must release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on July 8, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
