The surveillance video featured Barry Loudermilk investigating the January 6 capitol attack. The video was reportedly filmed on January 5. It is reported that at the time, the building was closed to tourists due to the on-spread virus. Before the video was released on social media, officials interrogated the congressman about the tour. However, Barry denied being involved in any of the suspicious activity. Later, the US Capitol Police also said that there was no evidence of Barry leading the tourists into the building. Also, the authorities announced that they did not consider any of the observed activities suspicious.

Recently, the committee decided to examine the situation further and found a video that featured Loudermilk inside the Capitol with other individuals on January 5. The footage showed Barry leading a group of ten people into the building just a day before the riot. Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson wrote a letter and according to that, Loudermilk led the tourists to areas in “the Rayburn, Longworth, and Cannon House Office Buildings” along with entrances to tunnels leading to the US Capitol. Thomspon went on to say that the group remained at the venue for several hours and even recorded and photographed certain areas which are not considered tourist attractions.

The Committee Chairman further said that one of the individuals in the group was seen capturing photos of the Longworth House Office building staircase and also filmed a companion holding a flagpole with a sharpened end and said “It’s for a certain person.” Now, the whole matter has become the center of attraction among the netizens as everyone seems to be talking about it. Talking about the matter, Loudermilk stated that the committee did not contact him before releasing the letter to the press and even called their behavior irresponsible.
