It is said that the French racer could have been more aware of the conditions and that he was driving at over 200 km/h.

Steward reports that after passing the scene of the incident, car 10 continued under the red flag situation and its speed exceeded 200 km/h and at one point it even reached 251 km/h. Pierre admitted his mistake and said that he understands that there could have been obstacles or marshals on the track and that he was too fast. During the race interruption, other drivers chipped in and expressed their outrage at the truck’s presence on the racetrack.

Lando went on to call the incident unacceptable. Apart from him, Sergio Perez also posted on Twitter. He wrote that how can they make it clear that they never want to see a crane on the track and that they lost Jules because of that mistake. “I hope this is the last time ever I see a crane on track”, added Sergio further.
