WHO stresses safety and Dr. Fauci says pause in major vaccine trial is ‘not unusual’

AstraZeneca, one of many frontrunners in the worldwide race for a Covid-19 vaccine, introduced Wednesday that it was pausing its late-stage trial to assessment safety information. The corporate stated the pause is a “routine motion” and that it is making an attempt to expedite the assessment to “reduce any potential influence on the trial timeline.” 

The next information was compiled by Johns Hopkins College:

  • International instances: Greater than 27.6 million
  • International deaths: No less than 898,200
  • U.S. instances: Greater than 6.three million
  • U.S. deaths: No less than 189,600
