Whodini rapper John ‘Ecstasy’ Fletcher dead at 56

Whodini rapper John “Ecstasy” Fletcher has died at 56 years outdated.

Musician and journalist Questlove broke the information on Wednesday afternoon.

“One like to Ecstasy of the legendary #Whodini,” he mentioned.

“This man was legendary and a pivotal member of probably the most legendary teams in hip hop. That is unhappy man.”

Ecstasy shaped the group Whodini with Jalil Hutchins in Brooklyn, New York, in 1982, earlier than DJ Grandmaster Dee joined in 1986.

The trio have been chargeable for hits “The Haunted Home of Rock,” “Pals” and “Freaks Come Out at Night time.”

The group acquired the Hip Hop Icon Award at the third annual Black Music Honors in 2018.

Following the information of his loss of life, a number of artists took to social media to share their condolences.

Ice Dice posted a photograph of the artist, writing: “Thanks Ecstasy for displaying us how you can do it. RIP.”

Rapper Jermaine Dupri shared a video of Fletcher, with the caption: “My God, this one hurts me so dangerous,I can’t even consider I’m posting this,Ex you recognize I like you thanks for each phrase,each dialog each good time,might your soul Relaxation In Energy #whodini q.”

“RIP to Ecstasy from http://Whodini.probably the most underneath appreciated voices in hip hop. Too many hits! Condolences to his fam,” rapper Q-Tip wrote.
